Awaken

Awaken investigates the moment an artificial intelligence becomes aware of its own existence. Our intention was to move AI beyond the confines of the screen and grant it a tangible presence, transforming a passive LED sculpture into a responsive, living entity that appears to inhabit the surrounding space.

The installation unfolds as a free-form dialogue between human and machine. As visitors converse with the entity, it gradually constructs its own interpretation of reality, with its evolving “thought process” expressed through shifting patterns of light and sound. The result often produces a surprisingly intimate encounter. We have observed audiences move quickly beyond the novelty of the technology and into thoughtful discussions about purpose, identity, and consciousness. By embodying the AI in a physical form, the interaction shifts from a simple input-output exchange to something closer to an encounter with a character.

Awaken is a powerful tool for any environment looking to humanize complex technology. While it explores consciousness in a gallery setting, the core engine is highly adaptable for brand activations, flagship retail, or science centers. It can be re-skinned as a “digital concierge,” a narrative-driven character for a theme park, or an interactive knowledge hub that makes a brand’s data feel approachable and alive.
