Interactive Feedback Booth

Transforming the traditional museum exit survey into a high-tech, communal act of creation.

Traditional surveys are broken. Nobody wants to fill out a paper form or scan a QR code at the end of an experience. Yet knowing what your audience thinks is one of the most valuable assets for growth, curation, and brand loyalty.

The Interactive Feedback Booth replaces boring questionnaires with a tactile, nostalgic, and deeply engaging experience. By merging the physical comfort of a classic telephone with cutting-edge offline AI, it turns passive feedback collection into a live, community-driven art installation.

First deployed at the Manchester Museum Human Natures exhibition, the booth encouraged large-scale public interaction and contribution.

How It Works

Prompt

Visitors lift the handset and hear a pre-recorded question or prompt tailored to the event or installation.

Response

In a focused, semi-private interaction, they respond naturally using their voice.

Visualisation

Once the handset is replaced, the local AI processes the audio and extracts recurring themes and keywords. These appear on an integrated touchscreen as a dynamic force-directed word graph, allowing shared ideas and sentiments to emerge visually over time.

More than a feedback tool, it becomes a live archive of audience participation.

Designed for a Range of Environments

The booth, hardware, and interface can be fully customised to suit different spaces, audiences, and visual identities.

Museums and galleries can transform audience feedback into part of the exhibition itself. It is ideal for long-running exhibitions and public engagement programmes, with questions updated throughout an exhibition cycle to generate distinct datasets and evolving audience insights.

Experiential marketing and brand activations can combine high engagement with qualitative audience insight, capturing authentic reactions to products, launches, and campaigns in a more natural format than traditional feedback systems.

Festivals and large-scale events can use the booth in high-footfall environments and over extended operating hours, capturing audience sentiment and recurring themes across large crowds in real time.

For weddings and private events, the system functions as an interactive audio guestbook, allowing guests to leave messages, stories, and reflections while contributions build into a live visual display over the course of the evening.

Built for Reliability and Ease of Use

The system is designed to operate independently with minimal on-site management.

Offline AI processing means speech-to-text and keyword extraction run locally without requiring an internet connection. The privacy-first design deletes audio recordings immediately after processing, anonymises contributions, and retains no personal data.

Integrated filtering and contextual screening help ensure public displays remain appropriate and relevant. The booth is designed for continuous autonomous operation, including automatic recovery after power interruptions.

Contribution data can be exported via CSV or JSON for further analysis of engagement patterns and keyword trends.

Custom Configurations

Configurations can be adapted depending on the scale, visual requirements, and technical needs of each project, from standalone installations to fully immersive environments with integrated lighting and responsive visual systems.
